SERIS Monitoring: ACA informs on migration of analogue PSTN telephone line
February 2017

EVENT NEW SECURITY

Aca informs installers and safety managers on the migration of the analogue pstn telephone line.

With approximately 1,750 unique visitors, the first edition of New Security was a most suitable target audience for conveying more information on the migration of the analogue PSTN line, which will soon be replaced by a digital line.

In this context, the professional association A.C.A. (Association of Emergency Response Companies), of which SERIS Monitoring is a member, organised a conference on this sensitive issue. A.C.A. aims to defend the interests of emergency response companies and ensure the quality of their services. Also when it comes to the migration to Voice over IP, the control room of SERIS plays an important part in providing information on lost signals originating from burglary alarm systems.
For instance, we inform installers of security systems – by way of prevention – on the connections at their end customers on a daily basis.

LOST SIGNALS CAN BE CAUSED BY:

  • No connection to the control room,
  • interferences,
  • no total transfer of the communication protocol
  • and open lines at the end customer resulting in rising invoices.

The panel consisted of representatives from the professional association, Agoria, Proximus and Alia.
In mid-2016, SERIS Monitoring already informed all its customers through the Newsletter about this transfer, which will be finalised in June 2017. At this moment, over 80% of the current Proximus telephone network is ready for the conversion.
