SERIS Security: “Optimal cooperation prevails over individual interests!”
November 2018

On 24 and 25 October 2018, the 24-hour bike ride of Louvain-la-Neuve was organised.

An annual student organisation taking over the whole city with a bike race and lots of concerts on several stages.

Obviously, security is key on such mega-events.

“There is only one spirit to ensure the security for an event attended by over 50,000 students and that is putting cooperation above individual interests. That’s exactly how High Security and SERIS Security, mobilising a considerable amount of professional resources and means, have been able to bring this project to a successful conclusion. Besides, every company has its specific strengths and joining forces is often the most efficient solution”, says Peter Verpoort, SERIS Director Guarding & Monitoring.

The joint teams of High Security and SERIS Security consisted of more than 150 security agents. The basic assignment was subjecting all visitors to a superficial check and banning rucksacks and large bags, which – given the student-type nature of this event – was all but simple. In other words, the security agents had to use all their professional expertise and communication skills to carry out their tasks.

This cooperation offers a particularly instructive experience!

For Lionel Reul, General Manager of High Security, the cooperation with SERIS Security was very effective.

“Such cooperation is only possible when trust, respect and honesty are obvious and the professional values match. I’ve always experienced this to be the case with my colleagues from SERIS and I am pleased that our cooperation also pays off commercially, with only one main objective, i.e. ensuring optimum security for our client”, says Lionel Reul.

For Erwin Meuwis, SERIS Mobile Coordinator with SERIS Security, this event partnership was a very positive experience.

Erwin assumed this task for the second year in a row and draws important instructive and professional lessons for other possible assignments.

“I very much appreciate the exchange of job experiences during this cooperation. The way in which the event is prepared and unforeseen problems are solved are but a few of the areas in which people and companies can learn a lot from each other. And, obviously, I have the greatest respect for the basic values of High Security. Lionel and his team apply high ethical standards towards the team of SERIS Security, which enables us to execute such challenging assignments together. I already look forward to next year’s edition”, concludes Erwin Meuwis.
